My Top 5 favorite YouTube videos…

My Top 5 favorite YouTube videos…

…that I’ve come across so far.

Well…or maybe, 5 favorite from my top 5 channels? Or top 5 from each channel in my top 5 categories list?

Nah, just top 5…but it’s going to be hard. Really hard. Like unbelievably hard.

I feel like this is really being unfair to many, many wonderful channels…but for me, to be one of my favorites, it really, really has to stand out. So to all of you DIY YouTubers out there…trust me, I watch your videos…but to me, they’re all about the same. While your DIY’s ARE really awesome and your decor tips are really helpful, I doubt that any of them will make my favorites list. In my head, they’re really all lumped into one category.

First off, this one from Studio C…Lobster Bisque! Oh, what can I say? This is the first YouTube video that officially made my burst out laughing. Sure, I had smiled before…and chuckled…and giggled…but burst out laughing? This was it.

Well…Y’all know about Brooklyn and Bailey…and my obsession with their song, Mommy It’s Good-

And…another from Studio C! International Relations. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this already…

Yet another one from Studio C…AND Brooklyn and Bailey! This one is HILARIOUS.

And the last one…Cute Girl’s Hairstyles…Brooklyn and Bailey’s younger sister, Kamri’s first hair tutorial! It’s soooo simple…and I wear it SO often. Out of all the tutorials that CGH has ever posted, I think this one is the one that I have worn more than twice. Don’t get me wrong, CGH always has great hairstyles, but I really hate stirring from my go-to hairstyles, but this one, wow, I saw this and it became one of my go-to hairstyles!

This was actually really interesting. Who knew that my favorites are all “oldies but goodies”? These three channels, Brooklyn and Bailey, Studio C, and Cute Girls Hairstyles were the first three channels I ever watched on YouTube…and they are still my favorite channels, by far. The collab that Brooklyn and Bailey did with Studio C was the one that introduced me to Studio C…and that got me hooked!

This was definitely hard. Wow…I think the next time I do favorites, I have to do “Top 25” or something…but…I doubt that anyone would be interested, haha! This was also a very interesting post to do again in about a year or so, to see how my tastes have changed over time.

What are YOUR top 5 favorite YouTube videos?

The Top 5 Ways I Do My Hair

Since I want to grow my hair to my waist, I naturally need some way to keep my hair out of my way as I proceed about life. Here are the top 5 ways I do my hair (note, this is the ways I DO my hair….I do often keep it down)-

  1. Dutch braid- I love wearing the dutch braid. It allows me to put up my hair without it tangling up and being annoying, it keeps my neck warm (is that a weird reason? :P) and also looks really cool. The first time I saw someone wearing a dutch braid (PLEASE don’t get me started on the disuse of the dutch braid. :P), I really wanted to do it, but I didn’t know how. Never mind that my hair wasn’t long enough either. After learning how to french braid and wearing french braids for a long time, it was about another year or so before I learned how to dutch braid. When I finally did, I practically stopped wearing french braids. Occasionally, I just dutch or french braid up to the nape of my neck, then tie it, leaving a ponytail, which is also how I enjoy wearing it. I wear dutch braids about 40% of the time.
  2. Ponytail! Ponytails make up about 35% of how my hair is done, since there are so many things I can do with ponytails. Although high ponytails give me a headache (I get headaches if my scalp is pulled too tightly), I can make a ponytail, then braid it and put elastic on the end for a two-day hairstyle. I’ll wear it in a braid the first day, then let the braid down and just wear it as a ponytail for the second day. Low ponytails are nice too, especially if I just want my hair out of my way.
  3. Messy “bun”- Although I can’t have a bun on top of my head (the shape of my head doesn’t really allow that, as well as the fact that I get headaches), I really really often, have a low ponytail or a single braid in the summer and halve (am I the only old-fashioned person who uses this word?) it, tying it with an elastic. It forms a little knot at the nape of my neck. (like this…this is not me) I’ve seen this hairstyle around really frequently this summer. It’s perfect if I want my hair off my neck. I wear this hairstyle pretty much 85% of the time during the summer, and around 20% of the time otherwise.
  4. Single braid- I wear a single (I’d like to say it’s long…but it’s not) braid after showering to let air dry, to put some volume into it, as well as some waves. I enjoy it because I don’t have to brush my hair to put it into a braid, whereas I need to brush my hair for dutch braids and ponytails to make it look nice.  Thus, if you see my hair in a braid, I’ve probably not brushed it that day. 😛  It’s a quick AND easy hairstyle to do when I’m out (Am I the only ponytailing-in-public-impaired person on this planet? I HOPE not….), and there are quite a few variations on a single braid- side braids, milkmaid braids (courtesy of Cute Girls Hairstyles), and many more! I wear a single braid around 20% of the time.
  5. French braid- Ever since I’ve learned how to dutch braid, I’ve worn a french braid a lot less. However, that’s not to say it’s not a wonderful hairstyles to do! You’re able to do Dutch braids, waterfall braids (again, courtesy of Cute Girls Hairstyles), and many more different styles when you know how to french braid. My personal favorite way to wear a french braid with with this super easy and pretty 3-Minute Scarf Braid from CGH (yet again). I wear a french braid about 5% of the time.

Top 5 Favorite Youtubers

Now, most of the reason I spend so much time on YouTube is because of all the awesome Youtubers on Youtube!

Here are my top 5 favorite Youtubers that I have found so far (in no particular order)-

  1. Cute Girls Hairstyles and Brooklyn and Bailey– Cute Girls Hairstyles was founded by Mindy McKnight, who is a self-acclaimed hair ninja, when people began asking her for tutorials for the adorable hairstyles she used on her girls (she has 5!!). She posts a new hairstyles video every week, and the hairstyles range from prom hairstyles to sports hairstyles to Halloween hairstyles. Brooklyn and Bailey, who are Mindy’s eldest two daughters (they’re twins!) started a Youtube channel of their own when they were thirteen, and quickly gained many many followers, because of their friendliness and charm. They do vlogs, challenges, and DIY’s. I really enjoy watching their videos, because they’re similarly-aged girls who are just so adorable. Both these two channels are really “good”, as in they’re clean (the McKnights are Mormon), and also in that they’re just fun to watch.
  2. The Piano Guys– The Piano Guys are four guys who really enjoy making music (and Youtube videos!) together. They have made wonderful music on crazy places, the Great Wall of China being one. They make great, music with piano and cello, including many Christmas pieces (which I’m slightly obsessed with ☺)
  3. Crash Course– The Crash Course offers many crash course videos in many subjects such as biology, astronomy, and literature. The guys who teach the courses make general fools of themselves, and are really fun to watch. I occasionally watch them before tests, as a way to release stress and review at the same time.
  4. Pentatonix– Pentatonix is a group of five acapella singers (with wonderful pitch!!) who sing together. I love listening to their music because of their phenomenal harmony, their outstanding blending, and their Christmas music. ☺ They are a remarkable and well-blended group (One’s Christian, one’s Jewish, one’s gay, one’s African-American, but they are obviously well in-tuned to each other and to their music).
  5. Studio C– Now, this is the channel I do most of my procrastinating on! This channel is a comedy channel that both Brooklyn and Bailey and CGH appeared on, introducing me to them. They have great clean comedy shows that are hilarious!! I could spend hours on end watching Studio C. I love how they have such real-life scenarios, yet so non-real-life at the same time.

It’s your turn! Who are your top 5 favorite YouTube channels? Also, I’m going to (hopefully) be posting regularly every Friday from now on- I’m prewriting blogposts, so it shouldn’t be that bad.
