  • When you actually prewrote blogposts to cover the week you were going to be really busy
  • Finding the song you’re playing in band in a meme

Awkward-

  • Waking up right before your flute lesson then spending the whole lesson choking on air bc allergies
  • When you get SO MUCH BOOKMAIL but the covers don’t match so you can’t do a photoshoot
  • When you’re procrastinating doing something that you’re doing to procrastinate on something that you’re procrastinating on
  • When your Spotify weekly is ON POINT

That Moment When-

  • When you title your essay “In Which My Brain Started Working Faster Than My Hand and I Started Mispelling Things . . . Then Ran Out Of Time (the title of my memoir, probably)” to show that you’re a serious essayist

The Blue Sky Tag || Tags (umm, duh) || In which I do a bunch of self promo that I didn’t intend to and also lots of gifs

Hey everyone! I was tagged by Abi Leah from Happily Abi for the Blue Sky Tag! Thank you, Abi!

skybluetag

Rules:

1.Thank the person who tagged you
2.Answer their 11 questions
3.Tag 11 people
4.Give them 11 questions to answer

Questions and Answers!

  1. What is your favorite song?
Um. So I’m pretty sure it’s not possible to only have ONE favorite song, but I really  like True Colors (particularly this cover), Oceans, as well as anything HAMILTON (duh?!), and this Roar/Brave mashup
  2. What new restaurant//cafe//coffee shop have you been to recently?
Hm. I don’t really go to restaurants/cafes/coffee shops, but I’d love to!
  3. What books do you love to read?
    readsnoopy
Anything historical fiction! Also non-romance contemprary, and not-too-gory mysteries/crime/stuffs. As for authors, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Agatha Christie, Beverly Cleary, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. (also ps my GoodReads is in the sidebar: follow me there *googles “how to self-promo bc I can’t”*)
  4. What is your favorite type of music?
    musiclistening
Well, I’m a big fan of classical, because I’m a musician, so I like to listen to talented persons. 🙂 Aside from that, I like soundtracks: the Sound of Music, The Fiddler on the Roof, and lots of stuff like that. My “About” page has a rather comprehensive list of music that I like.
  5. How do you come up with blog posts? IM BRILLIANT.
    imbrilliant.gif
No, but seriously. I do a bunch of book reviews, so there’s that. I also do Currently posts and Monthly Recaps, and also some Bullet Journal posts, and a bunch of random stuff that I randomly decide to do, like recipes and crafts, and thoughts, and….yeah, just *stuff* that I come up with.
  6. Why did you start blogging?
Initially, I wanted to make a website showcasing all the things I had learned from doing rocks and minerals in Science Olympiad, so I started a small website (which is still active but which I will not link because it’s so cringy) that included a small blog filled with random thoughts that me as a middle schooler had. (and also thus why my site is called RocksandMinerals4Him) Many of these thought posts are now at my blogger blog (which I don’t really use anymore either). As for this blog, I had to create a WordPress username for a cooperate blog for school, so I made a blog then. I randomly decided to post my New Years Resolutions for 2015 one day, and then just got started “officially” blogging!
  7. What is the best thing to do on a rainy day?
    Stay inside and knit! knittingfuriously

Or read. Or cook food. Or blog.

  8. How has this month been so far?
Well, there’s only been 6 days (at the time of writing) so far, so I mean, it’s not been bad. Lots of school, blogging, stuff. The weather’s been pretty nice so far, so I like it.
    snowsun
  9. What do you love to do outside of school//work?
This question has mostly been answered up above, but I love to play music, knit, read, cook, and pretend I can do artsy things.
  10. What is your favorite comfort food? Hmmmm….I don’t know. I think it varies with how I feel…cookies, ice cream, chips and dip, cheese…it’s all junk, hehe.COOKIES ARE THE BEST THOUGH. HAVE YOU SEEN ME BLOG ABOUT COOKIES YET?
    cookie.gif
  11. Where is your favorite place to visit?
THE LIBRARY. or Barnes and Nobles. Or anyplace with books.
    library

I just realized that I hyperlinked a. lot. of things. Like a. lot. Ooops sorrynotsorry

2016 Reflections/2017 Resolutions || Blogmas Day 29

Man, could it already be the third of these posts I’m writing? (Also, as I’m writing this, I’m looking back on old posts, and I’m actually rather amazed by how much I’ve grown over the past two years. Like, why on earth would I want to have become a. ambidextrous, or b. a vegetarian?)

(and if you want to stalk, here they are. Don’t cringe too hard. 2015 2016)

Also, it’s my 2 year Blogiversary today! WOWWWW.

But anyways…..on to the recap of the year, since this post is going to be long enough already. 😛

What’s in My Bullet Journal: Overview Edition || Bullet Journaling

(I guess y’all like seeing my Bullet Journal posts, wow!)

2016 Resolutions:

  • Read through the entire New Testament- YES! Well, there’s less number of chapters in the New Testament than there are days in a year, so it wasn’t hard. But I still did it! Success.
  • Memorize 1 chapter of the Bible per month- uhhhhh. NO. Fail.
  • Witness to one person- *sigh* I had really wanted to, but this never actually came to fruitation. I’m sad. Fail.
  • Bless someone everyday- Um. I tried to everyday, but I’m not positive if I actually succeeded. I’m going to count it though. It would have been nice if I had been thinking about it a little more consciously. Success
  • Honor my parents more- I’ve tried to. As I’ve gotten older and more mature (hah!), the points where I disagree with them are diminishing, so thus our relationship has indeed gotten better. Does this really count? I’m not sure, but I’m counting it anyways. Success
  • Clear my conscience and maintain it as clear- oiiiii….no. I mean, I actually never did it. So no. Fail.
  • Get a job- I’ve babysat several times this year, and I’ve also started teaching piano. Success.
  • Keep my room clean- Weeeellllll….my room has been decently clean lately. At least, I don’t fall on my face when I wake up in the morning, so I guess that counts? Success.
  • Eat no more than 1 piece of candy per week- I *think* this one worked. I’m not sure. It’s about right, though. (Though I may or may not have made up for not eating candy by eating chocolate chips, oops). Success.
  • Learn how to sing all the verses of 50 songs (basically, one per week)- heh. heh…hehhhh….no. 😄 I have about a total of 14 songs that I chose, and about , what, 3 that I’ve learned? Fail.
  • Get better at taking and editing photos and do ‘Photo A Day’- I’ve definitely gotten better at editing pictures (though looking at some of the pictures that I’ve edited you’d laugh when I say that), but I didn’t do the Photo a Day thing. That was just….hah. So…I guess it counts? Maybe? Success.
  • Knit 10 skeins of yarn- eeh, no. I just don’t have enough time to knit that much. I probably knit more than I did last year, so that was a minor success. But it doesn’t count, anyways. Fail.
  • Drink more tea- I think so. I’ve liked making tea a lot more (who doesn’t want to be the sterotypical blogger who has 13675498 types of tea in their pantry?) and so I’ve drunk more tea. Success.

So…that’s 8/13….not *too* bad…right?

Highlights of 2016:

Um…what happened in 2016?

As I’m looking back over my records (hah, like I’m actually ORGANIZED enough to keep records), I feel like I haven’t really done much new this year that I didn’t do last year, but here are a few highlights that came through this year.

2016 Blogger Gift Exchange || Indigo Ink || Blogmas Day 23

Hey everyone, and welcome to THE DAY BEFORE THE DAY BEFORE Christmas! (Or, as my ESFP brain calls it, Christmas Adam!)

So today, I’m trying out something different. A few weeks ago, I saw this post by Vanessa Best from It’s Simply Me, about a 2016 Blogger Gift Exchange.

This gift exchange isn’t anything big, or actually “gifty,” but instead an exchanging, a highlighting, of a blog. It’s hosted by The Bearable Blog by Jo and It’s Simply Me by Vanessa.
I was paired with Aliah from Indigo Ink, and I’ve gotten to poke around on her blog for a bit.
I’m really loving her content so far. Although she doesn’t post very often, her posts are always very thoughtful.
She travels a lot, and has beautiful pictures that she took in Greece and Turkey, and lots of other places. Aliah also posts “thought” posts.

Here are some of her posts that I really enjoyed.

She’s like me in several ways, including the fact that we’re both homeschooled, and that also we both play piano.

Go do yourself a favor and go check her blog out (and maybe wish her a merry Christmas!)

So what are you doing before Christmas?
Merry Christmas Adam, y’all!
