Blog RELAUNCH (and other things) PARTAYYYYYY

BLOGOSPHERE!

This is going to be basically an INTERNET PARTY on my blog/social media! I’ve wanted to do a giveaway for some time now, but I wasn’t sure what to do it for. (honestly I’m still not sure but eh who’s caring?)

Giveaway.jpg

SO. This is gonna be a celebration for

  1. 100 Followers on the Blog, Twitter, and Instagram (lol I’m actually at 200 on twitter already) so basically i’m famous now
  2. 2 (and a half, heck) years blogiversary
  3. Going into my SENIOR YEAR
  4. and A BLOG RELAUNCH!!!!

basically, everything you could ever do on the internet.

By entering the giveaway, you’re in the running for a watercolor quote calligraphy art thing that I did, a hand written letter to you, and a custom t-shirt that I make for you (and possibly some other surprise stuff that I haven’t decided on yet *wink*)!

If you’ve been poking around on the blog this past weekend, you MAY have noticed some *changes* to the blog! The general layout is still the same (but may change soon), but it’s WHITE now and so #professional, right? I’m relaunching my blog!

Soooooooo that means I’m going to be changing up the blogging schedule a bit! Starting from the END of August (when the giveaway closes), I’ll be back to posting *once* a week, on Fridays. Book reviews may appear also on Monday, but who reads those anyhow they will be sporadic.

However, with that, I’m also going to be trying to putting more thought into the blogposts….as in actually thinking about what to post more than an hour before I need it posted….*hides*

ALSO, you may know, I’ve heading into my SENIOR YEAR of high school. o.0 WHAT??? With that, comes college applications and adulting stuff and probably less time to spend trying weird things on the internet. Running a giveaway is something on my senior bucket list that I’m doing, and SO YAS.

Now….ON TO THE GIVEAWAY.

Rules:

  • This giveaway is open from Monday, August 14 to Thursday, August 31 at 11:59pm.  I’ll draw a winner and announce them on (or around) Sunday, August 13
  • You must have parent permission to enter (aka give your address away if you win)
  • Open IN THE US ONLY (sorry international friends…I am still a poor student with almost no money)
  • I will notify the winner BY EMAIL within 48 hours of the giveaway closing
  • Once notified, winners have 48 hours to respond with their details to claim the prize. After 48 hours, I will choose another winner

  • Filling in forms for your local homeschool group where you don’t have to be all formal

Awkward-

  • That part of the clothes cycle where you wear black t-shirts everyday so no one can tell if it’s the same shirt or not
  • When it’s 2am and you still haven’t listened to the 30 minute long Bright Eyes Podcast yet but still manage to do it, even if you’re working a full day the next day
  • When you collect 6 assorted glasses etc from your room so now you’re basically the model for the World’s Most Rebellious Teenager™

  • Writing “As a high school student” but deciding to change it to “as a student” bc it’s college, but typing “As a high student” instead.

That Moment When-

  • When you listen to Bright Eyes Podcast at 2:30am with moths at your window, rain falling, in the dark and being straight up paralyzed in fear
  • You discover that Julie Andrews has a daughter whose name is basically Emma Watson Hamilton (it’s Emma Walton Hamilton, but who’s checking?)
  • You’re lying in bed with no pants on because that’s clearly how you adult
  • You meet a friend at youth group whom you haven’t seen for literally 6 years but you feel like you know each other because of Instagram and the leader is going “???” because of how teens communicate these days *eyeroll*
  • Trying to take a screenshot to show your cracked screen. Needless to say, it didn’t work

What Happened This Month: June 2017

and thus concludes another month. It was an eventful month: the end of the school year and the beginning of summer (and work); it was a month of many, many birthdays of people I love. It was also a good month for my twitter analytics, apparently.

Happenings-

  • SO MANY BIRTHDAYS. Jeneca, Anna Joy, Aimee, Lindsey, Sydney, Vanessa, Abbiee, and my best friend. ❤
  • My cousin came over and stayed at our house for two weeks! We also went to NYC together, so that was fun. *spouts Hamilton lyrics*
    615351630559786041?account_id=7.jpg
  • I ‘participated’ in my first 24hour readathon, even though I only finished one and a half books
  • Twitter updated. It’s sleek but weird
  • I started my summer internship. Working 40 hours a week is INTENSE and now I know why everyone on twitter is like #TGIF
  • I revealed the pronunciation of my name to the world and everyone was confused

  • The Science Olympiad events for 2018 came out and I got unrealistically excited, particularly because I’m not even doing it next year
  • This

  • Reading A Series of Unfortunate Events, and seeing everyone who’s already read it on GoodReads and feeling like you’ve entered some Secret Reading Club
  • Being much too sassy for my own good on my Music Theory notes
  • A little boy at the grocery store who was so happy that his mom bought him his very own drink that he waved at me

Awkward-

  • When you’re at work writing to-do lists of all the things you’re going to do when you get home, but then actually be at home on social media because the wifi at work is terrible
  • When you’re cleaning out your backpack and find a bunch of gum…all partially unwrapped at the bottom
  • Being in the campus library with your backpack upstairs to keep from eating all the food before 2pm
  • Accidentally walking in between a gay couple holding hands in New York City
  • Accidentally being in New York City the week of #NYCPride and being inundated with RAINBOW EVERYTHING
  • The week you’re off work, the office does pizza, team building, and escape room
  • Overhearing two ladies talking about being on their period . . . then seeing that they’re wearing white and pale pink pants
  • Light green and purple scrapbook paper. Like ??? UGLY MUCH???

That Moment When-

  • You’re off twitter for ONE DAY and have to spend 45 minutes catching up
  • There are calluses on your dominant index finger and you can’t type with it on your screen
  • You’re not a gambler, but you wore white jeans

The Blue Sky Tag || Tags (umm, duh) || In which I do a bunch of self promo that I didn’t intend to and also lots of gifs

Hey everyone! I was tagged by Abi Leah from Happily Abi for the Blue Sky Tag! Thank you, Abi!

skybluetag

Rules:

1.Thank the person who tagged you
2.Answer their 11 questions
3.Tag 11 people
4.Give them 11 questions to answer

Questions and Answers!

  1. What is your favorite song?
Um. So I’m pretty sure it’s not possible to only have ONE favorite song, but I really  like True Colors (particularly this cover), Oceans, as well as anything HAMILTON (duh?!), and this Roar/Brave mashup
  2. What new restaurant//cafe//coffee shop have you been to recently?
Hm. I don’t really go to restaurants/cafes/coffee shops, but I’d love to!
  3. What books do you love to read?
    readsnoopy
Anything historical fiction! Also non-romance contemprary, and not-too-gory mysteries/crime/stuffs. As for authors, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Agatha Christie, Beverly Cleary, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. (also ps my GoodReads is in the sidebar: follow me there *googles “how to self-promo bc I can’t”*)
  4. What is your favorite type of music?
    musiclistening
Well, I’m a big fan of classical, because I’m a musician, so I like to listen to talented persons. 🙂 Aside from that, I like soundtracks: the Sound of Music, The Fiddler on the Roof, and lots of stuff like that. My “About” page has a rather comprehensive list of music that I like.
  5. How do you come up with blog posts? IM BRILLIANT.
    imbrilliant.gif
No, but seriously. I do a bunch of book reviews, so there’s that. I also do Currently posts and Monthly Recaps, and also some Bullet Journal posts, and a bunch of random stuff that I randomly decide to do, like recipes and crafts, and thoughts, and….yeah, just *stuff* that I come up with.
  6. Why did you start blogging?
Initially, I wanted to make a website showcasing all the things I had learned from doing rocks and minerals in Science Olympiad, so I started a small website (which is still active but which I will not link because it’s so cringy) that included a small blog filled with random thoughts that me as a middle schooler had. (and also thus why my site is called RocksandMinerals4Him) Many of these thought posts are now at my blogger blog (which I don’t really use anymore either). As for this blog, I had to create a WordPress username for a cooperate blog for school, so I made a blog then. I randomly decided to post my New Years Resolutions for 2015 one day, and then just got started “officially” blogging!
  7. What is the best thing to do on a rainy day?
    Stay inside and knit! knittingfuriously

Or read. Or cook food. Or blog.

  8. How has this month been so far?
Well, there’s only been 6 days (at the time of writing) so far, so I mean, it’s not been bad. Lots of school, blogging, stuff. The weather’s been pretty nice so far, so I like it.
    snowsun
  9. What do you love to do outside of school//work?
This question has mostly been answered up above, but I love to play music, knit, read, cook, and pretend I can do artsy things.
  10. What is your favorite comfort food? Hmmmm….I don’t know. I think it varies with how I feel…cookies, ice cream, chips and dip, cheese…it’s all junk, hehe.COOKIES ARE THE BEST THOUGH. HAVE YOU SEEN ME BLOG ABOUT COOKIES YET?
    cookie.gif
  11. Where is your favorite place to visit?
THE LIBRARY. or Barnes and Nobles. Or anyplace with books.
    library
